TV
Retro!
0I can barely remember what actually happened in these television shows, but they make me happy and nostalgic. Oh if I were a kid now, what would i do without saturday morning cartoons!!
Here are some favorites. (links courtesy teh shack )
Teddy Ruxpin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGrhQXtn92g
I barely remember since I was young, but all the characters are familiar
Rescue Rangers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1KGjrTjIDE
Oh, these guys were funny, that lady mouse was pretty fine…
Duck Tales: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWnC7SgNQ5k
Perhaps my favorite. I could even sing the song.
Inspector Gadget: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITZPHmPsCg4
I loved the gadgets but was never a fan of Penny. Grr… Penny always saves the day…
Ninja Turtles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd4LLKz4gUY
Wow, these guys were super cool. They are turtles, and ninjas, and mutants, and teenagers! I should make a cartoon about rabid pirate bunny cyborgs! Hmm… I think I know why saturday morning cartoons died.
Ghost Busters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjtGzSANxHI
I wasn’t allowed to watch, but i did. I don’t think it was that great, but ghosts! gasp!
Animaniacs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amh7d341ruk
They have bologna in their slacks? I appreciate the comedy, I think this would still be funny for me at my current age. This also has
Pinky and the Brain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSa9WNP4Wiw
West Wing vent
0It has been interesting enough up to this point for me to watch about half of the West Wing episodes. Also I encourage Josh getting a life. But with Donna, oh man, this is totally not cool. Watching any episode in the past few seasons and then thinking Josh and Donna together, ugh, but who am I to judge.
That is all.
Oh, Sam is back! One of the best characters ever. Sam for TV President in 2010!
Two Much!
024 then Prison Break!
I dont think I’ll be home, but even if I were home, it might just be too much action in one night. 24 is making up for its unusually long average life span. Prison Break has to start all over again? I have no idea how (if) they can make sense of going back into prison.
Jack will be back
0
I honestly expect season 5 to be worse than the other seasons but I thought the same from season 4 and they did a decent job. The show would be worth watching just solely based on Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer. He could be a short order cook or a window washer and it would still be awesome.
Check out the season 5 teaser below. Season starts January 15, I can’t wait!
Funniest show
0The most amusing show I’ve seen in recent memory was on yesterday. Halloween episode of “The Office” is pure gold. S02E05 of american version.
I have compiled a list of memorable quotes with the top “loyalty” quote coming from this halloween episode
Orson Reviews Everything
0Prison Break, Red Eye, Valiant, Lemonade, and Spelt – Uncle Orson Reviews Everything
This review is a few weeks old, but it is from renowned other Orson Scott Card which I find pretty cool. He wrote Ender’s Game which is a standout in sci-fi novels. He reviews a variety of things and here is an excerpt of his Prison Break review.
Prison Break belongs to Wentworth Miller. The Fox network was no doubt looking for something to create the same kind of fervor that 24 has aroused in its viewers — and they have it here.
Prison Break is the one show I have to watch. It has a 24-like sense with the progressive plot and super cool main character. Great show and I’m glad Orson agrees.
TV Roundup
0This week has been a bit slack so I decided to take a circuit around all the new shows this season. I watch too much television. For reference on my TV habits and my rating guide, see the TV Master List.
Prison Break is the only one that will make my scheduled television watching list and that means I’ll probably never see any of the other ones again. Invasion is a maybe at this point.

Lorelai and Rory!
0Gilmore Girls B
starring Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel
I’ll start with a quote from today’s season premiere
The security code is 1..1..1..1..1 and whatever you do, don’t tell the maid. They’ll tell their kids and the kids will grow up to rob you blind. – Emily Gilmore
I recognize that I am well outside the target audience but Gilmore Girls is a solidly entertaining show. The drama and comedy elements are compounded by the extreme quirkiness and charm of the characters. The jokes are well delivered and truely wity. The characters seem genuine and are very well portrayed by the actors.
So put your man-pride away and watch an episode of Gilmore Girls.
4400
0Normally I pick up on interesting new shows and watch them right away. Push, Nevada and others don’t do so well and some like Lost and 24 boom into mainstream.
I think I found another possible gem but I was about a full season late. I imagine it hasn’t been too popular mostly because it isn’t on a real network. The 4400 is about a foreign object from space that is on a collision course with earth. Before impact, it stops and 4400 people emerge from the smoke. There is a bit of supernatural stuff and a wide range of characters, some focused on in a single episode and some continually. It reminds of Lost in many ways and it intriuges me toa similar degree. More ends are tied in 4400 than Lost.
I want to see more 4400 I hope I will be able to catch up to the new episodes by renting it on dvd and I don’t really want to ruin it by jumping ahead. If you have the chance to start from day 1 or maybe just pick it up from where it is, I recommend watching The 4400
