My prediction back in May looks like it will hold through. Game 5: Spurs over Pistons in OT

Horry is insane; I love that he fearlessly dunks over someone and then the next play shoots the 3 even though the play was to someone else. For those who don’t know what Robert Horry has done, he has 2 rings with Rockets and 3 with the Lakers. Once he gets this ring he will have as many as MJ.

I used to think he was just a three point threat but he gets cruicial rebounds and plays great defense. His drive is also pretty solid and he is super clutch. Horry’s 6th man counterpart on the Pistons is having a very good series himself. McDyess is a midrange Karl Malone jumpshot type player. He racks up the points and makes things easier on his team. He isn’t clutch like Horry though. ESPN calls Horry the best role player ever. I know I’d take the Will Smith look-a-like on my bench.

Also Tony Parker made a monster stop to win the game. He is a quiet player but so often he drives and gets easy layups. His jumpshot isn’t quite on par with his foes Hamilton and Billups but it is still excellent nevertheless. Ginobili is amazing too. I much prefer guards that attack the hoops than the ones that shoot quick jumpers. Parker and Ginobili make crazy in-traffic layups and baby hook shots that seem to be on the same level as the masters Nash and Iverson. Having two on one team is very strange but it works.

Duncan choked bad tonight but luckily his team bailed him out. He went 1 for 5 from free throw, dropped a very easy pass and missed on a 1ft put back. One more point would have ended the game in regular time and when it went into OT after all those misses I was sure the Pistons would destroy the Pistons. They jumped to a 4 point lead in OT but Big Shot Bob saved the day. Spurs in 6 baby!
